Josh Stolar of the Red River Rebels Basketball Team has been named the recipient of his school's Lieutenant Governors Award for the 2009-10 year.  Jacob Miller of Westgate Collegiate has been named the winner of the 2010 Garrett Lee Sidor Memorial Scholarship by the MHSAA. 

Josh Stolar (number 14) is graduating from the business administration diploma programwith a GPA of 4.03.

The honour roll student capped off a three-year Red River College Rebels men's basketball career by winning a Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference championship and a finals MVP while also being selected to the conference All-Star team. Stolar was a verbal leader on the court and led the Rebels in points and rebounds.


Jacob Miller of Westgate Mennonite Collegiate is the winner of the 2010 Garrett Lee Sidor Memorial Scholarship.

The $500 scholarship is awarded in memory of Sidor, a Windsor Park High School student who died in May of 2007. Miller, a Grade 12 student,participates in cross country, volleyball, basketball and soccer.

Among the highlights of the season was helping Westgate’s basketball team capture the AAA provincial title this season.

Miller played a key role as he was named most valuable player. He wasalso a member of the coaches association All Manitoba team and was selected AAA player of the year.

Miller, a 95% student, is also a member of the student council and concert band.
