The Junior Bison Boys Basketball Club is pleased to announce a new scholarship program.  The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to former Junior Bison players who are enrolled at the University of Manitoba, and who are continuing to pursue basketball activities. Preference will be given to those applicants who are pursuing coaching opportunities within the Junior Bison program.  Deadline to apply is May 31, 2010.  For details including an application form.



CRITERIA for SELECTION



  • The applicant must be either a former
    participant (or current participant in Grade 12) of the Junior Bison
    basketball program, and have participated within the program for a
    minimum of 3 years.

  • The applicant has and continues to
    demonstrate a high level of commitment to basketball in the province of
    Manitoba.

  • The applicant is either enrolled, or
    intends on enrolling at the University of Manitoba immediately following
    their final year of high school. Evidence of enrollment will be
    required in order for funds to be released.

  • Up to two awards of $500



 



SELECTION  PROCESS



  • Interested applicants should fill out

  • All applications will be reviewed by
    the Junior Bison Scholarship Review Board (which consists of the
    President, Vice President, Past President, U of Manitoba Men’s
    Basketball Head Coach and a past Junior Bison executive / coach)

  • All applications must be
    received by May 31st.

  • The successful applicant(s)
    will be notified no later that June 30th.
