The Manitoba Bison men’s basketball team builds on the first year of a new era of the program. Second year Bisons head coach Kirby Schepp is pleased to announce the commitment of Marko Milosevic to the Bison program for the upcoming 2010-11 season. Milosevic, 18, is a 6’4”, 205 lbs. forward who was part of the Garden City Fighting Gophers title run as a two-time “AAAA” Provincial High School Basketball Champion (2007-08, 2008-09). Milosevic was named a 2009 Championship tournament All-Star as the Gophers successfully defended their provincial title against Sturgeon Heights in 2009. In addition, the Winnipeg raised and Sarajevo, Bosnia native had a successful grade 12 season in 2009-10 as he was a Graduating All-Star, averaged 31 points per game and 11 rebounds per game (averaged 41 ppg. in the month of February 2010) plus was named all-star at the St. Vital tournament where he set a career and school record by scoring 58 points in the tournament final.

Milosevic also played for Team Manitoba at the 2009 Canada Summer Games and Western Canada Games in 2007 and part of the U-17 Provincial Team in 2009. He was also the fourth ranked high school basketball player in the province by the Winnipeg Sun; played high school basketball for coach Phil Penner (a Bison Alumni) and maintains a 85% academic average heading into university.

“We are ecstatic to be adding Marko to our roster,” said Schepp. “He is exactly the type of athlete, person and student that we are trying to build our program around. We feel Marko is a true leader in every sense of the word and we are optimistic that he contribute right away.”
