TENURE TRACK/CONTINUING APPOINTMENT



Brandon University is a leader in providing high quality
education to over 3,500 full- and part-time students in arts,
sciences, education, music, and health studies. Based in
southwestern Manitoba, Brandon University also offers
pre-professional and Masters programs, as well as innovative and
award-winning outreach programs in a personalized learning
environment.



Applications are invited for a tenure-track or continuing
position as the Men’s Basketball Head Coach. The Head Coach
oversees the organization, administration and recruitment of
student-athletes for the men’s Basketball program. The Head
Coach also assumes other responsibilities including a key role in
the promotion of the program, fundraising, coordination of
basketball camp(s) and in alumni and community development.
Depending upon qualifications, the incumbent will be assigned
teaching or other professional responsibilities/administrative
duties.



Qualifications




  • Academic qualifications are, a minimum of a
    Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s preferred

  • 5 years of experience coaching at the CIS or CCAA
    level

  • Level III NCCP Certification in Basketball
    preferred

  • Successful recruiting and fundraising track
    record

  • Strong organizational skills to manage all program
    components

  • Demonstrated skills/ability in problem solving and
    exercising good judgment, taking initiative, as well as maintaining
    tact and composure in a highly competitive environment.

  • Relevant teaching experience would be an asset



Starting Date: May 15, 2010 or when the position is filled



Rank and salary: Commensurate with experience and
qualifications
