Basketball Manitoba has announced a new tournament format which will come into effect at this year's Junior High Invitational Tournamentin 2010. The new game format will see a 12-team single game knockout format used (similar to high school) at all levels of the tournament. The original format used since the JHIT's inception in 1996 was a double game consolation style tournament. Another change will also see all tournament finals from the four levels of play held at one site location on Thursday March 25. The changes come after surveying past coaches and making adjustments to the changing basketball landscape at this level.
