Basketball Manitoba would like to thank all the teams, volunteers, site hosts, scorekeepers, video crew and door staff for making the 2009 Manitoba Invitational Tournament a huge success!  Fourteen teams made up the event, playing in 35 games over the August long weekend at the University of Winnipeg and Tec Voc High School.  The event was staged as a lead up event for the 14 provincial teams who are heading into the Canada Summer Games later this month in PEI.  For a full recap of the game results and a list of those who made the MIT possible...

MABO Elite Camp Wraps-Up

The MIT was also a staging ground for the 2009 MABO Elite Camp, which offered an intensive training environment for 21 local senior referees from Manitoba.  The attendees were a part of in-depth classroom sessions and numerous game assignments in the MIT.  They received immediate feedback throughout the weekend as games progressed.  MABO in partnership with Basketball Manitoba and CABO involved 5 out-of-province evaluators to work with the local referees in the 4 day affair.  The CABO evaluators which came into Winnipeg included Don Klein, Bill Crowley, Mike Thomson, Warren Ponzak and Jake Steinbrenner.  Basketball Manitoba would like to acknowledge the hard work of Reid Kenyon who coordinated all aspects of the referee camp with the support of Wes Crymble and Dave Morphy and thank the CABO Evaluators and the local referees for making the weekend a huge success!.
