Female Athletes of the Year, the Team of the Year, the Cactus Jack
Wells Impact Award (for the event or individual having the largest
impact on the Manitoba sports scene), and the Dallis Beck Good Guy/Gal
Award (for an individual providing extraordinary help to the media). Nominations are open for the 2008 MSSA Jack Matheson Awards in support
of post-secondary students intent on a career in sportswriting,
broadcasting, production or public relations. To apply, students must
be enrolled at a Manitoba college, university or vocational school, or
be a Manitoba resident enrolled at a recognized institution outside the
province. The deadline for Athlete/Team nominations is November 30th, 2008, and December 8th, 2008, for the Matheson Awards.
We invite your response, and request that this information be forwarded to possible candidates or sport organizations. The recipients will be declared at the 53rd Athletes of the Year dinner on January 25th, 2009, at the Delta Winnipeg Hotel. Nominations should be sent to:
