The Filipino Basketball Association - Winnipeg have announced details on an upcoming fundraising evening on April 26 and an open basketball tournament on May 23-24 at the University of Manitoba Investors Group Athletic Centre. These initiatives are being run to raise funds for the FBA's hosting of the North American Championships this Labour Day Weekend in Winnipeg. For details...
This is a fundraising tournament hosted by the WAAY Basketball League
and the Lipenos Basketball League. There are 7 divisions in this
tournament ranging from as young as Tykes (Gr 4&5 - 10 & 11 yr
olds) all the way up to Open Mens and Ladies Divisions. This event will
take place at the University of Manitoba with the team registration fee at $250.
Proceeds of this tournament all go towards the upcoming Filipino
Basketball Association of North America tournament to be hosted here in
Winnipeg during the September Long-weekend.
Twelve cities from Canada and the United States all vie to be the top
team in their division. A highly anticipated event soon to bring in
over 1200 players.
