The Brandon Bobcats defeated the Calgary Dinos 97-83 in the bronze medal game of the Canada West Final Four Saturday night.  Fifth year forward Adam Hartman had 29 points and 7 rebounds to lead
the ‘Cats, who dropped an 85-79 decision to the Alberta Golden Bears in
Friday’s semi-final game.  Dany Charlery added 20 points and 11 rebounds for BU, while Yul Michel scored 18 points.  The victory keeps Brandon’s season very much alive and thrusts them
into contention for a wildcard berth into the CIS national
championships in Ottawa. The third-ranked ‘Cats are considered the
favorites to receive the berth, which will be handed out at the end of
next weekend.

The only competition BU might have is from the second-ranked Acadia Axemen, who compete in the Atlantic University Sport conference tournament this upcoming Friday to Sunday. If the Axemen fail to win the AUS berth to nationals, they would also have a legitimate claim to the wildcard.

When announced, the Final 8 will be announced at http://www.universitysport.ca
