The University of Winnipeg and the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) would like to announce that men’s
basketball star Erfan Nasajpour has been named to the CIS Men’s Basketball Second All-Canadian Team at the CIS Men’s Basketball
Championships this morning in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Nasajpour, a fourth year guard and team captain was the third leading
scorer in the CIS with 22.36 points per game, placed second in the
Canada West in assists with 6.5 assists per game and was solid on the
defensive side of the ball leading the CIS in steals with 86 (3.91
steals per game). Nasajpour was named the Canada West Male Athlete of
the Week (November 27, 2006) after scoring a career and Canada West
season high 45 points against Simon Fraser. The dynamic 5’8” guard
was named the MVP of the 40th Wesmen Classic, leading the team to the
Classic championship. Nasajpour was also named the University of
Winnipeg Male Athlete of the Week seven times during the 2006-07
season.
Nasajpour, an Academic All-Canadian last season was also named a Canada
West First Team All-Star last week to go along with his Canada West
First Team selection in 2004-05 and a Canada West Second Team All-Star
in 2005-06.
