Winnipeg, MB – May 7, 2025 — As Peg City Basketball celebrates its 10th anniversary, the Peg City Foundation is marking the milestone by giving back to those who have helped shape its legacy from the inside out. Applications are now open for the 2025 Peg City Foundation Scholarships, which recognize the dedication and impact of individuals who have contributed to the growth of Peg City Basketball.
Established in February 2023, the Peg City Foundation supports young athletes through scholarships and initiatives that foster success both on and off the court. This year, the Foundation will award two scholarships of $1,500 each to outstanding members of the Peg City community.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be actively involved in Peg City Basketball—as a player, referee, scorekeeper, videographer, stat tracker, gym supervisor, game day manager, club coach, or trainer. This includes participation in affiliated leagues such as the Showcase, Club Basketball League, Sea Bears Youth League, and Senior leagues.
Eligible candidates must also be enrolled in or accepted to a post-secondary institution (university, college, or trade school). Proof of acceptance is required before scholarship funds are released. Most importantly, applicants should demonstrate a deep commitment to basketball and represent Peg City with integrity in the community.
How to Apply
Applicants must complete the Scholarship Application Form by July 31, 2025. The form requires a brief statement describing their role within Peg City Basketball and how they meet the scholarship criteria.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by the Foundation’s Selection Committee. Recipients will be announced on the Peg City Basketball website and social media channels.
This scholarship initiative is a celebration of Peg City Basketball’s journey over the past decade—one fueled by the hard work of those who’ve made an impact behind the scenes. Now, the organization is investing in the next generation of leaders and athletes.
