University of Winnipeg Wesmen to Honour Indigenous Heritage at Feb. 2 Basketball Games

Skylar Boulanger, Josh Gandier and Robyn Boulanger are examples of
indigenous role models within the Wesmen Athletics family.
The University of Winnipeg Wesmen will once again honour and celebrate the indigenous peoples of our province with Indigenous Night Friday at the Duckworth Centre.

The third annual event will be held in conjunction with the Wesmen basketball games and feature traditional dances, a drum group, crafts and fundraisers for local indigenous groups.

The event is being held in cooperation with the U of W Aboriginal Student Council and the Anishinabe Pride Basketball Club of Winnipeg. The women's game tips off at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m., with special halftime performances scheduled.

Free group tickets are available by calling 204-786-9821.
