The Bison women's basketball program has announced another commitment of Alyssa Lucier of Wallaceburg, Ontario.  Lucier, a 5'6" guard, comes to the Bisons from London Rambler's JUEL team. In her hometown she ended her career at Wallaceburg District Secondary School as the team captain and MVP. The multi-sport athlete was also the MVP of her curling and soccer teams and capped off highschool as the Outstanding Female Senior Athlete of the Year.

"We are very pleased to add Alyssa to the Bison family. In a very quick recruiting process we lucked out in gaining a player that has a deep love for the game and prides herself on work ethic both on and off the court," said Hynes on the commitment.

Alyssa LucierLucier said, "My goal for this season is to improve individually and grow as a player within the team. I am very excited to continue playing basketball and I couldn't see myself playing in a better environment than with this team at the University of Manitoba. It was obvious to me as soon as I stepped on campus how fortunate I am to have this opportunity. The coaching staff and the team have been very welcoming and the facilities are amazing. Go Bisons!"

Bison Notes: This is the fifth recruit to join the Women's Basketball program for the 2015-2016 season. Alyssa joins Nicole Konieczny, Emma Thompson, Addison Martin and Cara Neufeld.
