CAMP SOLD OUT! Basketball Manitoba is very pleased to announce details that it will be hosting a special athlete camp in Winnipeg at St. John's Ravenscourt School, 400 South Drive in Winnipeg.  The Brian McCormick Crossover Movement Basketball Camp is set for October 24-25 in Winnipeg and targets male and female athletes ages 11-16.   


Brian McCormick is a basketball coach, trainer and author. McCormick’s coaching career includes stops at the youth, high school,
college and professional levels.  He possesses a PhD in Coaching and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (NSCA) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM).

He founded and wrote the Level 1 certification curriculum for the Youth Basketball Coaching Association to assist non-profit organizations with the development of their volunteer coaches and to disseminate information for coaches. 

McCormick has developed the Playmakers Basketball Development League and wrote Playmakers: the Player’s Guide to Developing Basketball Intelligence to provide an age-appropriate league alternative focused on fun, learning and development for younger players.  He also created the 180 Shooter Practice and Shot Tracker programs to enable more deliberate practice and coach/player communication.  McCormick has published 13 books, including Cross Over: The New Model of Youth Basketball Development; Developing Basketball Intelligence; Hard2Guard: Skill Development for Perimeter Players; Blitz Basketball; 180 Shooter; Brian McCormick’s Hard2Guard Player Development Newsletters Vol. 1-4 and more.  


McCormick has conducted clinics throughout the United States and in Canada, China, Greece, Macedonia, Morocco, South Africa, and Trinidad & Tobago. He also has worked individually and in groups with dozens of players from beginners to high school and college All-Americans to professional and National Team players.

180 Shooter Camp Features (Friday)
  • 180 Shooter Clinics focus on the four-step progression from novice shooter to expert shooter.

  • 180 Shooter programs and concepts like shot tracking, practice habits and deliberate practice.
Playmakers / Developing Basketball Intelligence Camp Features (Saturday)
  • DBI Clinics focus on tactical skills like give-and-go cuts, pick-and-rolls, transition basketball and more with an emphasis on creating a shot for oneself or a team mate. 
  • Clinics use an assortment of competitive games and drills to develop skills and introduce concepts like attention, pattern recognition and anticipation.

Clinic Cost:
  • $55.00 per athlete (taxes included)
Deadline to Register:
  • Wednesday October 22, 2014 at 5:00 pm OR when the camp fills up to 50 athletes.
Clinic Notes:
  • IMPORTANT: All participants must bring their own basketball.
  • The Friday of this weekend is the province-wide 'SAGE' in-service day (no classes) and the Saturday will see no WMBA games scheduled as the Super Coaches Clinic is running all day for all league coaches.
  • Players are to attend BOTH days of the camp (5 hours of court time in all)  
  • Players are asked to show up 15-30 minutes prior to the Friday session to register. Registration will begin at 12:30 pm on the Friday (no sooner)
  • No previous basketball experience is required - all are welcome!
  • Players are asked to come dressed ready to participate including non-marking runners, shorts and a t-shirt.  A towel and water bottle are also recommended but not required.
