Canadian Men’s 3x3 Deaf National Team Host Basketball Training Camp at Providence College

The Canadian Men’s 3x3 Deaf National Team hosted a basketball training camp at Providence University College in Otterburne, MB, which included Prov alumni and Manitoban Graham Bodnar (pictured 2nd from the left).

The squad continues to prepare for the Canada Deaf Games in July in Montreal and the 3x3 Deaf World Cup in September in Israel. Other opportunities for some team members include the Deaf 5 on 5 qualifications for the Pan Am Games in Argentina in November and World Championships in Greece in 2023.

Canada Deaf Games Featuring 3x3 Basketball Coming to Winnipeg in February 2018

The 2018 Canada Deaf Games are coming to Winnipeg that will feature men's 3x3 basketball as part of it and will include Curling, Hockey, Volleyball, Snowboarding and Bowling. 3x3 basketball at the Games will be open to males born in 2002 or earlier (ages 16 or over as of January 1, 2018) and will occur at Red River College - 2055 Notre Dame Ave, Winnipeg, MB in the North Gym.

Basketball Manitoba acknowledges that the work we do to support a thriving basketball community takes place on the traditional lands and waterways of the Anishinaabeg, Ininew, Anisininew, Dakota Oyate, and Denesuline Peoples, as well as the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We respect the spirit and intent of the treaties made on this land and are grateful for the opportunity to work, live, and play here. We remain committed to advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action 87-91 and welcome all nations to Basketball Manitoba.
