Canada Basketball has opened applications for the newly revamped Mike MacKay Stewardship Award, expanding its focus to recognize leaders across the basketball ecosystem who are committed to developing others and growing the game through an athlete and care-centred approach.
The award will honour two recipients annually, including one female leader working with female athletes, and is open to coaches, officials, volunteers, and administrators within Canada Basketball verified programs. Each recipient will receive a $2,500 bursary, along with support to deliver a stewardship clinic in their community.
Nominations are open until May 22, 2026, with applicants required to submit supporting references as part of the process.
