U SPORTS has announced a recap of the men's and women's basketball All-Canadian and All-Rookie Team selections revealed on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the All-Canadian Galas, highlighting several Manitoba-based and Manitoba-connected athletes recognized at the national level.

Manitoba-based and Manitoba-connected honourees

  • Olivia Weekes (UBC Thunderbirds, Winnipeg, Manitoba) was named a U SPORTS Women's Basketball Second Team All-Canadian.
  • Kato Jaro (Winnipeg Wesmen, Winnipeg, Manitoba) was named a U SPORTS Men's Basketball Second Team All-Canadian.
  • Sultan Haider-Bhatti (Brandon Bobcats) was named a U SPORTS Men's Basketball Second Team All-Canadian.
  • Munroop Gill (Brandon Bobcats) was named to the U SPORTS Men's Basketball All-Rookie Team.

Winnipeg Wesmen head coach Mike Raimbault was listed among the nominees for U SPORTS men's basketball Fox 40 Coach of the Year.

Earlier in the postseason, Canada West announced its 2025-26 men's and women's basketball All-Star and All-Rookie teams on Thursday, February 19, 2026, which also included Manitoba-based standouts, including Weekes and Jaro, plus Brandon representatives Haider-Bhatti and Gill.
