Peg City Basketball has announced SBYL 3x3, a spring 3x3 development series designed to help Winnipeg youth athletes become more confident, game-ready players through high-repetition training and game play.
SBYL 3x3 is built around the 3x3 format to increase athlete involvement on every possession. With smaller rosters and constant action, athletes get more touches, make faster decisions, and develop stronger basketball IQ through repeated live reads and game situations.
PROGRAM DETAILS
- Cost: $225 per athlete (all program costs included)
- Start date: Wednesday, April 29, 2026
- Wednesdays: Skill Development sessions led by Sea Bears 3x3 Champion Steven Wesley
- Sundays: 3x3 Games (first game day is Sunday, May 3, 2026)
- Team format: Teams of 5 players
- Register solo as a free agent, or
- Register as a full team with friends
- Play format: Indoor and outdoor play (weather permitting)
- Capacity: Spots are capped due to limited space in weekly skill sessions
- Canada Basketball membership: Athletes not yet registered with Canada Basketball for 2025-26 will complete the standard $9 annual membership during registration
SKILL DEVELOPMENT LEADERSHIP
Skill Development is led by Steven Wesley, a professional 3x3 athlete and coach with experience on the FIBA 3x3 Pro Circuit, including multiple seasons on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. Wesley brings international-level 3x3 experience and real-game teaching to each session, focusing on fundamentals, spacing, decision-making, and game awareness.

HOW IT WORKS
- Wednesdays: Skill Development and Teaching
Structured, age-appropriate instruction focused on fundamentals, spacing, decision-making, and game awareness. Sessions are designed to challenge athletes while building confidence in a positive environment. - Sundays: Apply and Compete
Weekly 3x3 games allow athletes to apply what they have learned in live action. Games are supervised by Peg City game-day staff, and the format encourages independence, teamwork, and confidence.
PLAYER JERSEY INCLUDED
Every athlete receives an official 2026 Peg City SBYL 3x3 reversible jersey to keep.
