The Canadian Forces have announced that Winnipeg will host the 2026 Canada West Military Men’s Basketball Championship from February 9 to 13, 2026. The championship will be held at the BLDG 90 Gymnasium at 17 Wing Winnipeg and will feature six teams competing in a structured championship format over five days.

The tournament will use a two-pool crossover format, with teams playing pool games followed by crossover matchups and quarter-final games. The top teams will advance to the semi-finals on Thursday, February 12, with the championship final scheduled for Friday, February 13.

The competing teams will be divided into two pools. Pool A will include Winnipeg, Moose Jaw, and Esquimalt. Pool B will include Cold Lake, Comox, and Edmonton. Final rankings after crossover play will determine quarter-final and semi-final matchups, with higher-seeded teams designated as the home team for medal games.

The event will also include opening and closing ceremonies, recognizing athletes, coaches, officials, and partners. The championship is supported by Canada West, PSP, and the Canadian Armed Forces, and reflects a continued commitment to hosting high-level basketball competition in Manitoba.
