The Jr. Wesmen Basketball Club has announced open tryouts for its U15 and U17 PEBL teams. These elite teams are designed for committed, high-level athletes looking to compete, develop, and train in a true high-performance environment. Tryouts are open to age-eligible athletes across Manitoba and will work alongside any existing club basketball affiliations.
The U15 and U17 Jr. Wesmen PEBL teams will compete in the Prairie Elite Basketball League (PEBL), which includes junior teams connected to U Sports programs from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. This league is centered around athlete development in a high-performance environment and offers the benefit of exposure to U Sports programs and coaches across Western Canada.
Tryout Information
Dates: March 24, 25, and 26, 2026
Times:
U15 Tryouts (born 2011 or later) 7-8:30 p.m.
U17 Tryouts (born 2009 or later) 8:30-10 p.m.
Location: University of Winnipeg Duckworth Centre (400 Spence Street)
Cost: $20 per athlete
Program Details
Practice Schedule: April 6 - June 8th, 2-3x per week (day/time TBD)
Competition Schedule:
April 11-12, 2026 - Regina
May 2-3, 2026 - Calgary
May 23-24, 2026 - Saskatoon
June 6-7, 2026 - Edmonton
The Jr. Wesmen program will work alongside any major Basketball Manitoba events such as provincial team tryouts and club championships. As such, we will not travel on a weekend that conflicts with one of these events.
