Emerson is a qualified educator and coach, graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Education specializing in Physical Education and Biology, along with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.  Through years of coaching and competing at high levels, Emerson discovered a passion for teaching and uses sport as a powerful tool for learning, growth, and development.

Emerson recently completed a successful university basketball career with the Manitoba Bisons, bringing firsthand experience from a high-performance environment into her coaching approach. Prior to this, Emerson was a member of the Manitoba Provincial Team program and competed at the 2017 Canada Summer Games hosted in Winnipeg, where they earned a Bronze Medal.

Emerson began her coaching journey back in 2018 with the Junior Bisons program and remained actively involved throughout her university playing career. This past fall, Emerson coached with the Junior Academy program and will be the coaching with the Junior Wesmen PBEL program inthe spring. During the school basketball season, Emerson is serving as the head coach of theWindsor Park Girls Varsity basketball team focusing on building a positive, competitive, andsupportive team culture.

Emerson takes pride in giving back to the programs that gave so much to her, emphasizing high basketball IQ and practical learning rooted in recent high-level playing experience. With a genuine love for the game, Emerson aims to inspire young athletes to grow, compete, and share that same passion for basketball.
