Basketball Manitoba is pleased to release a new 62-page "Manitoba Basketball Post-Secondary Resource Guide" — a comprehensive document created to support student-athletes, parents, and coaches across the province in navigating the university and college recruitment process.

The guide provides clear, practical information on recruitment timelines, academic eligibility, transfer rules, scholarships, and expectations within the U SPORTS, CCAA, and NCAA basketball systems. It also includes detailed basketball profiles for each of Manitoba’s six post-secondary basketball programs — Brandon University, University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, Canadian Mennonite University, Providence University College, and Université de Saint-Boniface — along with key contact details, admissions links, and facility information.

Additional sections cover frequently asked questions, sample recruitment questions for players and parents, advice on highlight videos and campus visits, tips for time management and academic success, and information on wheelchair basketball and adaptive sport opportunities in Canada and the United States.

The guide was developed in consultation with Manitoba’s university and college basketball coaches to serve as a trusted roadmap for athletes aiming to continue their basketball careers beyond high school.  The document will be updated regularly with new information.
