Basketball Manitoba has announced the details for its upcoming Super Coaches Clinic, scheduled to take place online on Friday, October 24, 2025. The clinic, presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, offers coaches of all levels a unique opportunity to learn from some of the top basketball minds across North America for a registration fee of only $35.

The annual Super Coaches Clinic continues to serve as a premier professional development opportunity, providing practical tools and strategies to support coaches at all levels of the game.

The clinic will run on the same day as the province-wide 'SAGE' in-service day.  The registration deadline is 12 noon 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Christie Sides – Former WNBA Head Coach, Indiana Fever

Christie Sides brings more than two decades of coaching experience at the professional, collegiate, and international levels. Most recently, she served as Head Coach of the Indiana Fever from 2022 to 2024, guiding the team to its first playoff appearance since 2016 and earning WNBA Coach of the Month honours in August 2024. Her WNBA résumé also includes roles as an assistant coach with the Fever, Atlanta Dream, and Chicago Sky, where she was part of the staff that advanced to the 2014 WNBA Finals.

Sides’ career began in the collegiate ranks with stops at Louisiana Tech, LSU, Northwestern, and Louisiana-Monroe, highlighted by three NCAA Final Four appearances and two SEC regular-season titles while at LSU. Internationally, she spent six seasons with Spartak Moscow Region in Russia, helping the club win back-to-back FIBA EuroLeague Championships in 2009 and 2010, as well as five Final Four appearances. She also worked with the Slovakian Women’s National Team, helping the program qualify for the European Championships for the first time in many years.

Respected for her ability to connect with players and build winning cultures, Sides has developed a reputation as a dynamic teacher of the game at every level.

Roy Rana – Head Coach, Jordan Men’s National Team

Roy Rana is one of Canada’s most accomplished basketball coaches, with a career spanning high school, U SPORTS, the NBA, international basketball, and now the head coach of the Jordanian Men’s National Team. Widely respected for his ability to build winning programs and develop elite talent, Rana has coached on some of the biggest stages in the world.

Rana is best known for leading Canada’s U19 Men’s National Team to a historic gold medal at the 2017 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Cairo — the first World Championship in Canadian basketball history. He also guided Canada through the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers with a 10–2 record to secure a berth, while previously earning multiple medals with Canada’s age-group teams at the U16, U17, and U18 levels. On the global stage, he has also served as head coach of Egypt’s national team and assistant coach with Germany’s senior team during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

At the professional level, Rana has worked as an assistant coach with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, spent three seasons leading Kyoto Hannaryz in Japan’s B.League, and currently directs Jordan’s national program. Earlier in his career, he became one of the most successful high school coaches in Canadian history with Eastern Commerce, before moving to Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan), where he guided the Rams to multiple national medal finishes and one of the most memorable U SPORTS upsets of all time over the powerhouse Carleton Ravens.

In addition, Rana has long been tied to the Nike Hoop Summit, where he is the winningest head coach in World Select Team history, helping future NBA stars such as Nikola Jokić, Joel Embiid, RJ Barrett, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander develop against the top American prospects.

Mike Raimbault – Head Coach, Winnipeg Sea Bears & Winnipeg Wesmen

Mike Raimbault is one of Manitoba’s most accomplished coaches, currently leading both the Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League and the University of Winnipeg Wesmen men’s program. Since taking over the Wesmen in 2010, Raimbault has guided the team to national prominence, including back-to-back Canada West finals appearances in 2023 and 2024, and a program-best 16–4 finish in 2024–25.

A Brandon native and former Brandon University Bobcat, Raimbault’s coaching journey has been defined by success at every stop. He led the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves to a CCAA national championship, earning both B.C. Colleges and National Coach of the Year honours. As interim head coach at Brandon in 2007–08, he guided the Bobcats to a 20–2 record in Canada West play. Across his U SPORTS career, he has accumulated nearly 200 career wins, while continuing to develop winning cultures and competitive teams in Manitoba and beyond.

Chris Oliver – Founder, Basketball Immersion

Chris Oliver is the founder of Basketball Immersion, The Basketball Podcast, and Immersion Videos, and is recognized worldwide as a leading voice in modern basketball education. With over 20 years of coaching and consulting experience, Oliver has developed innovative approaches that focus on decision-making, conceptual offence, and games-based learning. His methods, including Basketball Decision Training (BDT), have influenced players, coaches, and programs across every level of the game.

Oliver’s career includes a highly successful run as head coach at the University of Windsor, where he recorded more than 300 wins with a .750 winning percentage. Internationally, he led a Canadian professional team to the 2018 Jones Cup gold medal, and he has since consulted for NBA teams, NCAA programs, Nike’s EYBL, and basketball federations in more than 50 countries. He currently serves as Basketball Development Leader at Sierra Canyon School in California, while continuing to mentor coaches and players globally through clinics, workshops, and online platforms.

Lynne Roberts – Head Coach, Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA)

Lynne Roberts was named Head Coach of the Los Angeles Sparks in November 2024, bringing her successful track record from the collegiate game to the WNBA. Known for her modern, up-tempo style of play and ability to build strong player relationships, Roberts has established herself as a respected leader at every stop in her coaching career.

Before moving to the professional ranks, Roberts served as the head coach at the University of Utah, where she guided the Utes to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and was recognized as the Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2023. Her Utah teams were praised for their offensive creativity and team-first culture, making the program one of the most consistent in the Pac-12.

Roberts’ path to the WNBA has included successful tenures at Pacific and Chico State, along with early career experience as an assistant coach at Seattle Pacific. Across her journey, she has built a reputation for innovation, adaptability, and creating environments where athletes thrive on and off the court.

HISTORY & PAST PRESENTERS

The Basketball Manitoba Super Coaches Clinic was formed through a partnership among the Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association, the University of Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba, and Basketball Manitoba.  The first clinic was established in 2009 at the University of Winnipeg and has alternated between the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba ever since.  The clinic averages over 300 coaches in attendance annually and is the largest coaches' clinic in Manitoba, as well as the largest basketball coaches' clinic in Canada.
