Robyn Boulanger has been named the inaugural recipient of the Celebrating Women in Sport Scholarship, presented by True North Sports + Entertainment and the Winnipeg Jets.
The scholarship was created to recognize and support the development of women leaders in sport and is awarded to an individual who demonstrates leadership, dedication, and a commitment to advancing equity in the sporting community. Robyn, a proud Indigenous athlete and coach, has been a strong advocate for Indigenous representation in sport and a role model for youth across Manitoba and beyond.
“It is truly an honour to represent Indigenous coaches and athletes through this recognition,” said Boulanger. “I carry this not just for myself, but for all Indigenous youth who want to make an impact through sport and education. I hope this opportunity helps open more doors and inspires more women to step into spaces in sport as leaders and mentors.”
The scholarship reflects True North’s ongoing commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within sport and the broader community. Through this recognition, Boulanger continues to champion the path forward for the next generation of athletes and coaches, especially within Indigenous communities.
Robyn is the current head coach of the 15U Female Manitoba Provincial Team and will lead Manitoba at the Canada Basketball National Championships this August in Toronto.
