The George Washington University Revolutionaries women’s basketball team has announced that Winnipeg’s Tanah Becker has officially committed to continue her university basketball career with the team, an NCAA Division 1 program based in Washington, D.C. Becker will transfer to GW from the University of Kentucky, where she spent her freshman season with the Wildcats.

Standing 6’1”, Becker plays as a guard and brings a versatile skill set, combining size, athleticism, and basketball IQ. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Becker was a standout in the Basketball Manitoba high-performance system, including the Centre for Performance and Targeted Athlete Strategy (TAS) programs. She was also a key member of Manitoba’s 18U Female Provincial Team that competed at the 2022 Canada Games.

Her high school career included playing for Shaftesbury High School in Winnipeg and training under some of the top coaches in the province. Following high school, Becker continued her development with Ontario and United States-based prep programs, leading to her initial commitment to the University of Kentucky.

Becker now joins the George Washington Revolutionaries, who compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference, and will look to make an immediate impact with her combination of length, defensive ability, and perimeter shooting.
