Brock University and the Ignite Canada Basketball Club has announced that Magnus Carlos, one of the province’s top graduating players, has officially committed to join the Brock Badgers men’s basketball program for the 2025-26 U SPORTS season.
Carlos, a 6’3” guard from Vincent Massey Collegiate in Winnipeg, has been widely recognized as one of the elite prospects in Canada. Known for his high basketball IQ, shot creation, and ability to take over games in clutch moments, Magnus led the Vincent Massey Trojans to a top ranking in Manitoba and earned national recognition through his performances both provincially and across Canada.
Recently named the AAAA Boys Player of the Year at the Basketball Manitoba Awards and featured as the No. 1 player in the Winnipeg Free Press Top 10 boys basketball rankings, Carlos has consistently shown his leadership and scoring prowess. His standout play throughout his high school career earned him praise as “one of the best guards and scorers in all of Canada” by national recruiting outlet Monday Scout.
Magnus has been a key part of the Ignite Canada Basketball program and has represented Manitoba with pride, demonstrating consistent excellence on the court and a commitment to development. With his decision to join Brock, he becomes one of the most high-profile U SPORTS commitments in the country this year.
Brock University competes in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conference.
