Basketball Manitoba has announced that Taylor Schepp, one of the nation’s premier high school student-athletes, has officially committed to the University of Manitoba Bisons Women’s Basketball program.

A student at Dakota Collegiate in Winnipeg, Schepp brings over a decade of basketball experience to the court, including four years with the Manitoba Provincial Team. She has earned provincial titles at both the junior varsity and varsity levels, was named championship MVP, and consistently stood out with the Chaos Basketball Club. Her high school stats speak for themselves—averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals per game.

Schepp was recently honoured by Basketball Manitoba as a member of the All-Manitoba Team and Graduating All-Star, and was named the recipient of the prestigious Carl Ridd Award—recognizing excellence in basketball, academics, and community service.

Off the court, Taylor has balanced athletic excellence with academic achievement, earning top marks in Chemistry (99%), English Language Arts (98%), Calculus (97%), and Advanced Math (97%). She has also made a lasting impact in the community—coaching with Winnipeg Minor Basketball, mentoring younger players through feeder school programs, and contributing to the Cooperative Education basketball program. In addition, she has volunteered with the Terry Fox Run, Manitoba Marathon, and her school’s Graduation Committee.

Taylor continues a strong family legacy at the U of M but is carving out her own unique path as a leader, scholar, and competitor. Her commitment marks a significant addition to the Bisons as they continue to build a high-performance program rooted in local talent.
