Winnipeg's Keylyn Filewich has announced via her Instagram account that she has signed her first professional basketball contract that will take her to Germany this coming season with the VFL Astrostars Ladies basketball club located in the city of Bochum.  The team plays in Division 2 of the German Women's pro league (Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga League - DBBL).

Keylyn is coming off a USPORTS Silver Medal this past April with the Winnipeg Wesmen and being named the national Player of the Year.  She also helped lead the Winnipeg team at the Canada Basketball Canada Quest 3x3 tourney this past July in Toronto to a second-place finish.

She commented, 'Ever since I started playing sports, I told my parents I wanted to play professionally, and they did everything to support that dream.  Thank you to everyone who made my university career so successful.'
