Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce details of the girl's Target Athlete Program (TAP) for the 2022-2023 Season.  The TAP program is a high-performance basketball development program led by Randy Kusano (Basketball Manitoba's Female High-Performance Coach) that targets and develops high-potential female basketball players in Manitoba.  This year's program will feature two groups, each with a different focus.

The 15U TAP Group (athletes born 2008/2009/2010) will train twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Sport Manitoba Courts from September to May (pausing during the school basketball season) and will operate as a training group (no games or tournaments).  Players in this group will focus on training only (athletic, skill, and concept training only).  Players in the 15U program are encouraged to participate with other basketball clubs for further development and gameplay experience.  The 15U TAP program provides a high-level training group experience focusing on development.  Approximately 20 athletes will be selected to join the program.

The 17U TAP Group (athletes born 2006 & 2007) (2005 athletes will be included by invitation only - no tryout) will run as a competitive development program and a team that will compete against higher-level competition in Manitoba (MCAC, Senior Teams, etc.), other provinces, and the USA.  This group will train 3 times per week from September to May (pausing during the school basketball season) on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sundays, as well as their competition schedule.

The open TAP tryouts will be held on August 19 & 20 at the Sport Manitoba Courts at 145 Pacific Ave.
