TORONTO, Ont. (May 19, 2022) – Canada Basketball announced Thursday the return of the 3X3 Canada Quest with coast-to-coast qualification events taking place across the country this spring before national champions will be crowned in Toronto this July at GLOBL JAM.

Hosted in collaboration with provincial sport organizations (PTSO) partners, the sixth season of the 3X3 Canada Quest will feature a multi-tournament provincial qualification tour which culminates in the men’s and women’s elite division 3X3 Canada Quest Finals being played at the GLOBL JAM Festival from July 8-9 at Yonge-Dundas Square.

Twelve elite men’s and women’s teams from across the country will not only be vying for a berth in either the FIBA 3X3 World Tour (Montrรฉal) (September 3-4, 2022) or FIBA 3X3 Challenger (Edmonton), but also a cash prize of $15,000 for each winning team.

The Manitoba men's and women's teams will qualify through the 2022 Manitoba 3x3 Basketball Championships on June 25 & 26 at the Sport Manitoba Courts, 145 Pacific Avenue in Winnipeg.  Registration for that event will open by the end of May.

In addition to the ten teams who will qualify for the 3X3 Canada Quest Finals, two wildcard teams will round out the field of twelve teams.

Select regional 3X3 Canada Quest qualifiers will also offer recreational and youth age group divisions for men and women of all skill levels in a fun and friendly environment. For a full schedule of 3x3 Canada Quest qualifier dates and locations and to register your team, click here.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3X3 Canada Quest was cancelled in 2020 and 2021.

FIBA 3X3 World Tour is the most prestigious event in 3X3 and the 11th edition in 2022 will feature a record 13 events, while the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series is the number 1 event on the 3X3 women's professional circuit.

The 3X3 discipline is promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body.  Canada Basketball, in working with FIBA, will regulate the rules of the game, facilitate the promotion of the discipline and sanction the organization of 3X3 tournaments with the support of the Provincial Sporting Organizations.

With over 250 million players worldwide, 3X3 basketball is amongst the most played recreational sports in the world.  From the first official event at the 2010 Youth Olympics Games to the Olympic inclusion starting with the Tokyo 2020 Games, 3X3 is considered the number one urban team sport.

Set to take place in Toronto from July 5-10, GLOBL JAM will shine the international spotlight on the game’s rising stars and feature women’s and men’s teams from around the world competing in an Under-23 tournament live at Mattamy Athletic Centre and broadcast nationally on Sportsnet.  Uniting fans on and off the court, GLOBL JAM will also feature festivities at Yonge-Dundas Square that celebrate the intersection of sport, art, and culture.

Session passes (2 games) are on sale now via Ticketmaster.  Additional ticket information, along with schedule and volunteer opportunities can be found at globljam.ca.
