In the interest of public safety, Wesmen Athletics will not be hosting fans at the Duckworth Centre for the next two weeks as the province of Manitoba continues to navigate the latest COVID-19 variant.

The announcement means no fans will be hosted for this Friday’s basketball games at the Duckworth Centre as well as the Jan. 22 men’s volleyball match (7 p.m.) against Manitoba.

All three games impacted were previously rescheduled due to exam scheduling conflicts for student-athletes at the University of Manitoba.

The women’s and men’s Wesmen basketball teams will play the Manitoba Bisons at 6 and 8 p.m. Friday at the Duckworth Centre.

A decision on home contests slated for Jan. 27-29 will be made upon further evaluation following the Jan. 22 men’s volleyball match.

Fans who are still wanting to tune into the action can do so via the Wesmen Webcast on Canada West TV presented by Co-Op. Single-game passes can be purchased for $7.99, which allows the viewer to enjoy games live or on-demand for 48 hours.
