Basketball Manitoba is pleased to announce its new partnership with the Winnipeg's Got Sole group that will see the two organizations hosting the 4th Annual Winnipeg Sneaker Swap Expo on Saturday August 6, 2016 at the University of Winnipeg as part of the Canada Basketball National Championships.

Winnipeg’s Got Sole was established by Frendell Cano, Jerry Legaspi and Johann Generao as a non-profit Winnipeg charity in 2013. The charity is focused on providing safe events and programs to further contribute to the growing Winnipeg sneakerhead scene while promoting charity amongst our community and city.  Winnipeg’s Got Sole promotes shoe releases and events through their social networks.

The event will include the local sneaker collecting club as part of the closing day of the National Championships at the Duckworth Centre.  Shoe donations and swaps, vendors, services and more will be featured.  You can donate gently used shoes collected for the less fortunate at the Expo.

To date, over 1500 pairs of used footwear and hundreds of Winter coats and jackets have been donated to their partnered charities, Siloam Mission and Basketball Manitoba.

The Canada Basketball National Championships will occur in Winnipeg August 1-6 at the University of Winnipeg Duckworth Centre and will feature the top 15U and 17U male players from across Canada on 21 total teams.

More information on the sneaker event will be announced in the coming weeks on the WGS website...
