The CMU Women's Basketball team is very happy to announce the commitment of Lord Selkirk's Ashtyn Hodges for the 2015-16 season. The 5'9 forward helped the Royals to back to back Piper Classic Tournament wins in her grade 11 and grade 12 seasons.

In their 2015 Piper Classic victory, Hodges was individually recognized with the Dennis Schrofel Award as the player who best exemplifies basketball, academic excellence and community involvement.

"Ashtyn is a very skilled player," said head coach Joe Di Curzio, "She's a terrific outside shooter, a great inside player and she can take the ball to the basket extremely well. She is also an excellent student who will thrive in the classroom and community at CMU."

Lord Selkirk finished in a tie for third place in their zone after a semifinal loss to Garden City earlier this year. Along the way, Hodges averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds per game through her grade 12 season.

Onto the 2015 Manitoba Provincials, the Royals came within a win of qualifying for the MHSAA 'AAAA' Final Fours when they were eliminated by the eventual Champion, Sisler Spartans.
