The University of Winnipeg has announced that this season the Wesmen teams are finding a new way to give back to the community in the form of a Wesmen Christmas Food Drive. During the month of November players, coaches, trainers and other athletics department staff will be bringing in non-perishable food items that will go to Winnipeg Harvest, to help with the fight against hunger in Winnipeg.

Saturday November 29th the Wesmen take on the Mount Royal University Cougars in a Canada West showdown and fans can do their part to help the cause.  Children under the age of 15 will be allowed in FREE with a donation of non-perishable food item (we ask all fans to bring a item along that night or to any Wesmen game in November). We will also be hosting an auction with all proceeds going to support Harvest. There are prizes for everyone, a hair salon and tanning salon prize, signed NHL sticks, a signed Team Australia Volleyball Jersey from the World Championships donated by Wesmen Athlete Tom Douglas-Powell and even a signed John Elway jersey. Other packages include Jets Tickets, prizes from Winnipeg KidsFest and GrandPrix Amusements, WOW Hospitality gift certificates and many other great prizes.

With all the proceeds going to a great cause we encourage our amazing fans to come out and watch some great Wesmen action and help out an amazing cause. All the auction items will be out at the Wesmen games at the Duckworth Centre on Nov. 21st  & 22nd  and then again on the 28th and draw night of the 29th.
