Brandon University has announced details on its New Year’s Basketball Classic (NYBC) which is an annual basketball event that is a weekend full of basketball activities. The 2nd annual NYBC will run January 2, 3 & 4, 2015 at Brandon University's Healthy Living Centre.
There will be a girls’ varsity tournament, girls’ junior varsity tournament, 3-point competition, and a free co-ed basketball camp. There NYBC promises a weekend full of basketball opportunities for children of all ages The New Year’s Basketball Classic (NYBC) is an annual basketball event that is a weekend full of basketball activities co-hosted by the Brandon University Bobcats women's basketball team and Vincent Massey Vikings Basketball.
NYBC is a unique event to Manitoba. One of its primary goals is to recognize grade 12 participants (student-athletes and student managers) who demonstrate leadership qualities and provide them with a financial award to assist with post-secondary school tuition and expenses. The New Year’s Basketball Classic will also present leadership awards to qualifying grade 12 participants (student-athletes and student-managers) NYBC 2014 youth camp participants pose with the Bobcats ENTRY FEES:
Varsity Girls Basketball tournament - $300 per team
Junior Varsity Girls Basketball tournament - $275 per team
Basketball Camp for grades 2 through 8 – co-ed - FREE
Teams from outside of Brandon are eligible to receive free room nights at BU Athletics' host hotel, the Victoria Inn.
