The University of Utah NCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball Program has announced the formal signing of Winnipeg's Emily Potter as a member of its 2013 recruiting class.  Emily is a stand-out member of the Glenlawn Lions, Manitoba's Provincial Team Program and is a member of the Canadian National Cadet Team.  Utah head coach Anthony Levrets commented "Emily is a multidimensional post player. She has great size and great hands, which allows her to be effective around the basket, but she also possesses a skill set and ability to pass and handle the basketball, which will allow her to fit in very well with how we play. She was a vital member of the Canadian Cadette team that won a bronze medal at the international FIBA tournament".  Emily participated with the Canadian Cadet Team at the FIBA championships over the summer, averaging eight points and 6.4 rebounds per game at the tournament and had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds against Japan in the bronze medal game.  She led Glenlawn Collegiate to a provincial championship and was named to the tournament all-star team and was named to the 2012 All-Manitoba Team by the MBCA.
