Sport Manitoba has announced that it is seeking enthusiastic, experienced individuals to serve as a volunteer with Team Manitoba for the 2013 Canada Summer Games. As a member of the Mission Staff you will work with a core team of professionals responsible for supporting the participation of Manitoba athletes, coaches and managers at Canada’s premier multi-sport event. The 2013 Canada Summer Games will be held August 2-17, 2013 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The Canada Games is a national multi-sport competition featuring top developmental athletes from every province and territory in Canada. Deadline to apply is March 15, 2012
As part of the mission team you will work over the next year and a half to ensure all aspects of Team Manitoba’s preparations are in place for a successful and winning team. Tasks include coordinating a variety of athlete services such as registration, transportation, uniform distribution, media relations and mandatory non-sport training. You will work with highly skilled, professional staff support from Sport Manitoba. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in Manitoba’s sport development system.
Positions are available for approximately 17 mission staff. Mission staff must be prepared to attend for the entire two week duration of the Games.

- an interest in and enthusiasm for working in a fast paced multi-sport environment;
- the ability to operate independently and in a team atmosphere;
- the ability to perform functions and duties outside of your assignment;
- strong interpersonal skills and an ability to provide excellent service to your assigned sport.
- As well, the ideal candidate will have extensive and varied experience as a volunteer and be prepared to demonstrate strong commitment to the event. Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
