Linden Christian School has announced that it will be hosting its 3rd annual Hoops for Hope Varsity Girls Charity Basketball Tournament on February 16-18, 2012.  It is the goal of Linden Christian School to once again provide a top quality girls varsity  basketball tournament, as well as use the sport of basketball to reach out to our local and global communities. Teams slated to participate in this year’s tournament include University of Winnipeg Collegiate, Nelson Mac, RD Parker, Swan River, St. John's Ravenscourt, Calvin Christian, Shaftsbury and host school Linden Christian.  The 2012 Tournament Charity of choice will be 'Kickballs for Kids'.  Kickballs for Kids was founded by local young sports enthusiast, Chris Thompson, from Stonewall, Manitoba. While vacationing in Africa, Chris was encouraged to see children in some of the poorest African countries share his passion for soccer. He was inspired by the children and set his goal of handing out 1,000 soccer balls before his return to Canada.  Since it’s inception, the Hopes for Hope Tournament has raised $6,700.00 for various charities.   For details...
