17UGKerriKuzbyt.jpgWomen's Basketball head coach Tanya McKay is pleased to announce the commitment of Kerri Kuzbyt to the University of Winnipeg Women’s Basketball program for the start of the 2012 -2013 Canada West Conference season.  Kuzbyt, currently in her final season at Sisler High School averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals per game with an impressive assist to turnover ratio of 1.8 last year for the Spartans.

In 2011 Kuzbyt was a member of the MHSAA Girl’s Basketball All-Manitoba Team (awarded to the top five high school girl’s basketball players) and the recipient of the Players Choice Award at the High School Provincial Championships. She was ranked number six in the annual High School Girl’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

She has been a member of the Manitoba Provincial Team for four years (2008-2011) and was honoured as Sisler’s Basketball MVP since grade nine.

“Kerri is a very good natural leader at the point guard position. She can hit the three, pull-up in transition and create opportunities for others while being a hard nosed defender with a never quit attitude. She is one of the hardest working players I have coached and we are very excited that she has committed to our program”, said Wesmen head coach Tanya McKay.
