Both of Manitoba`s 14U Provincial Teams today won their respective semi-final games to advance to Tuesday`s Gold Medal Games at the Western Canada Summer Games being staged in Kamloops, BC. The male team, under the coaching staff of Chiranjit Goswami, Jeff Shaddock and Tyler Kohut, convincingly knocked off Team Alberta 78 - 59. Torrez McKoy of Manitoba led all scorers with 23 points. They move on to the Gold Medal game scheduled for Tuesday evening against the winner of BC / Sask at 8:00 pm Manitoba time.
On the girls front, the Manitoba 14U Girls Provincial team, coached by Michael Tan, Cassie Reimer, Christie-Anne McCulloch, entered the medal rounds after going 3-0 in the preliminary play with victories over BC (54-43), Alberta, (57-56) and today over Saskatchewan (61-52).
