The University of Winnipeg and Men’s Basketball head coach Mike Raimbault are pleased to announce that Travis Krahn from Winkler, Manitoba has committed to the University of Winnipeg Men’s Basketball program for the start of the 2011-2012 Canada West season.

A prolific scorer, the 6’2 guard averaged 28.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and five assists per game in his senior year at Garden Valley Collegiate. The highlight of the season was a 51 point performance including 14-three pointers in a single game.

“Travis is a tough nosed competitor and we are excited about his commitment to our program. He is an intense competitor at both ends of the floor, is a good three point shooter and is a guy who will continue to improve as he gains experience”, said Wesmen Head Coach Mike Raimbault.

Krahn spent the 2010-2011 season with Briercrest College in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association. He spent three summers as a member of the Manitoba Provincial team program (15U, 16U and 17U). He represented Manitoba at the 2009 Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island.
