Sample ImageBasketball Manitoba today released a new one page document created by its Technical Committee which offer recommendations to over 25 different components that go into creating or renovating a basketball facility.  The items include specifications on the floor markings, playing surfaces, wall padding, room dimensions, lighting, basketball backboards and rims, scoreboards and shot clocks, bleachers, benches and surrounding rooms among others.  Illustrations of the recommended items are included as are pictures of the University of Manitoba IGAC floor which now features BOTH sets of the FIBA court markings.  The guide also features a link to an interactive tool used to select your ideal floor marking color combinations on the floor.  It is suggested that all facility managers at the school and club levels refer to this one page summary when considering upgrades or modifications to their current structures.  It is also an excellent guide for brand new facility builds.  Another resource available for borrow upon request from the Basketball Manitoba office is FIBA's 300 page 'Guide to Basketball Facilities' book for more details on all of these items.  To download the one page document...
