It is with great sadness that Basketball Manitoba shares the news on the passing of Willy Olaes. Willy was a passionate basketball player from Winnipeg, a game he played his whole life. He started playing with his brothers in the Philippines, taught his children, nieces and nephews how to play and continued to play with friends in Filipino leagues over the last 31 years. His basketball has lead him to travel throughout North America always leading his team to a championship and taking home many MVP accolades back to his family in Winnipeg.
