Summer League MVP Brayden DuffThe University of Winnipeg Wesmen captured the Basketball Manitoba
Summer League title defeating the University of Manitoba Bisons 86-80 on Wednesday night.
The cross-town rivalry remains intact as both teams traded leads over
the course of the game.  In the end the ability of the Wesmen defense to
limit Bison leader Eric Garcia proved to be the difference as they held
him to 11 points on 3/16 shooting.  Garcia had been the league's most
dangerous scorer trailing only Chris Dyck of the All-Stars team.  Erik
Zimmerman and Nick Lother scored 13 points each while the Basketball
Manitoba Summer League MVP Brayden Duff scored 10 points and grabbed 16
rebounds notching a game high efficiency rating of 21.  Tanner Draward
led the Bison attack with 19 points and 9 rebounds.  Congratulations to

Members of the Manitoba 17U Provincial Team

The 17U Provincial Team kept their momentum of the last few weeks
going by easily handling the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 95-71

17U's with 17 points and 9 rebounds in just 16 minutes of playing time.
Elliot Taylor chipped in 11 points for the winners.  Moe Muhammed led
the Blazers with 17 points and 9 rebounds.  The 17U team is coming off
