http://www.basketballmanitoba.ca/images/stories/head-shots/ProvTeam/2009/Michael-Thorne-Finch.jpghttp://www.basketballmanitoba.ca/images/stories/head-shots/ProvTeam/2009/Taneesha-Greaves.jpgBasketball Manitoba is very excited to announce that both Michael Thorne-Finch and Taneesha Greaves of Winnipeg have been formally invited by Canada Basketball to attend the upcoming 17U National Cadet Team Identification Camps in Toronto this June.  Both Michael and Taneesha were identified out of the Canada Basketball Centre for Performance Program hosted by Basketball Manitoba this past winter.  Both athletes are also current members of Basketball Manitoba's Provincial Team Program.  The camps are offered by invite only and bring together the top 24 athletes, 17 years of age and under to vie for a spot on Canada's National Cadet Teams.  The male team is off to Germany this summer to compete in the FIBA World Cadet Male Championships and the female program will be doing the same in France for the FIBA World Cadet Female Championships.  Assistant Coaching on the male program is University of Manitoba Head Coach and long time Basketball Manitoba coach, Kirby Schepp.  Canada is part of only six other countries in the world to have all four of its national teams qualify for all World Championships in 2010.  The ID camps are also being used to determine four athletes to represent Canada at this summer's first World Youth Olympics in Singapore and compete in the new 'FIBA 33' (or 3 on 3) competition.  For more on Michael and Taneesha...
