(Toronto, ON) The 2009 edition of NBA 3on3 presented by Rogers tips off
this weekend from June 27-28 at Western Fair Grounds in London, ON with
special guest, nine-time NBA All-Star and legend, Dominique Wilkins.
This is the first stop of eight as Canada’s only 3on3 tour brings the
true NBA experience to Canadian hoopsters from coast to coast.  Canada
Basketball will once again be a part of this popular event, showcasing
the ‘Steve Nash Youth Basketball Skillz Challenge’ on the CB court.






 

“We are pleased to be a part of the NBA 3on3 that is a quintessential part of summer basketball in Canada, said Canada Basketball Executive Director and CEO, Wayne Parrish.  “The Toronto Raptors and wonderful partners and are committed to developing the game and providing opportunities for the Canadian basketball community to showcase their talent while having fun.”This is the fourth season for the NBA 3on3 tournament that takes place from June - August.



Participants will again have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes and receive exclusive Toronto Raptors merchandise in their player bags. The event will feature appearances by NBA and Raptors personalities in every city. Admission is free for spectators. Spectators will have access to the Rogers Slam Dunk Contest, Speed Stick 24/7 Challenge, Juicy Fruit King of the Court II, Speed Stick Shoot for $1,000 Contest, Steve Nash Youth Basketball Skillz Challenge and the Rogers My5 Court.



The Canada Basketball court will feature elements from the national grassroots basketball development program named after the two-time NBA All-Star.  Participants will strive to complete three drill stations (dribbling, passing, and lay-ups) in the quickest time possible.  While there are top prizes each day for the best time, everyone will receive free giveaways from Canada Basketball.

The schedule for NBA 3on3 presented by Rogers is as follows: London (Western Fair Grounds) June 27-28; Atlantic (Moncton Coliseum) July 4-5; Montreal (Hippodrome de Montréal) July 11-12;  Winnipeg (Red River Exhibition Park) July 18-19; Toronto (Exhibition Place)  July 25-26; Edmonton (West Edmonton Mall) August 8-9; Vancouver (British Columbia Institute of Technology) August 15-16;  Calgary (Currie Barracks – Parade Square) August 22-23.
