Brandon University Bobcats Women's Basketball Coach Jaime Hickson is pleased to announce that she has secured her biggest recruit of
the season; a full time assistant coach. Melissa Stoesz, a former Manitoba
Bison, has committed to coach with the Bobcat Women’s Basketball Program for the next two seasons, while she pursues a Bachelor of Education degree.
Recent Bobcat graduate Suzanne Campbell will join her on the assistant coaching staff.
Coach Hickson is excited to have Melissa join her Bobcat squad: “Melissa is
one of the top high performance girls’ coaches Manitoba. She has experience
in all levels, is passionate about the game, and is committed to her
athletes’ success on and off the court. She is a great fit for our
program.”
Having just been named the 2006-2007 Manitoba Basketball Coaches Association
Junior Varsity Girls Coach of the Year, Melissa is thrilled to be back
coaching C.I.S. basketball, while completing her Bachelor of Education
degree.
“Coming to BU is an amazing opportunity as it allows me to combine my
education degree and work as an assistant coach," she says. "I have coached
with Jaime in the past and know that working with her will be a very
positive experience.”
“I’m eager to be involved with a team that is enthusiastic, positive and
growing. As a Bobcat I believe that I will not only be able to help
strengthen the BU Women’s Basketball team but also help to improve the level
and quality of girls basketball throughout the province.”
