The Regina Community Basketball Association (RCBA) is inviting
applications for the position of Executive Director. Founded in 1931,
the RCBA is a not-for-profit, community oriented league that delivers
basketball programs based on the principles of participation,
development, and fun. In recent years, the league has enjoyed
significant growth and currently maintains a membership of nearly 2,000
players in the Regina area.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides leadership and management as the league administrator. Essential responsibilities include managing and ensuring efficient and effective day-to-day operations; providing financial management and reporting, operational planning, procurement and facilities management; managing registration, communication, marketing and sales; implementing Board policies and the Strategic Plan; developing the league’s public image and community networks; recruiting and supervising volunteers; acting as Secretary to the Board; and, planning and administration of the Annual General Meeting.
As a preferred candidate, you have a post-secondary degree in Administration, Commerce, or Sports Administration and three to five years related experience, preferably in sports management (an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience would be considered). You possess superior communication, interpersonal and project management skills and a demonstrated ability to create and maintain cooperative working relationships. You also possess strong computer skills and the ability to use database and spreadsheet applications. Superior leadership, management, and organizational skills supplemented by a passion for the sport of basketball will enable you to inspire others to achieve success.
