STARS Basketball Interlake is pleased to host the University of
Manitoba Bisons Women’s’ Team in our first ever Interlake Basketball
Camp.

Led by Head Coach Pam Danis, her coaching staff, and the Bison players, this 3-day camp will feature 9 hours of basketball skills training for children in groups from ages 9 – 16.  The camp will be held in Teulon Collegiate on December 27, 28, and 29.

“The Bison players are excellent role models and this camp will provide an opportunity for kids interested in basketball from throughout the Interlake area to work with these elite athletes” says Bob Baker, Program Director for STARS Sports Interlake.  “Not only will the entire Bisons team participate in the camp as coaches, the Bisons will be holding two open practices at Teulon Collegiate from 5 – 7pm on the 27th and 28th followed by an Inter-Squad game on Friday, December 29th starting at 6:00pm” adds Baker.

“We are pleased to provide local coaches and athletes with the opportunity to watch our team practice and the Inter-Squad game is a chance for us to showcase our sport in the Interlake” says Bisons Coach Pam Danis. “The Holiday Hoops Camp, open practices, and inter-squad game are part of a winter break retreat for our team” continues Danis.

STARS Basketball has grown in popularity over the past two years.  Started in Gimli two years ago with 23 players, STARS are now running entry-level skill development basketball and volleyball programs for children in grades 1 – 6 in five Interlake communities (Gimli, Teulon, Selkirk, Stonewall, and Stony Mountain).  Over 150 players participated in the fall session.
