Following a successful playing career at the high school (Oak Park) and university levels which culminated in being selected to the Manitoba Provincial Teams, named a conference All-Star with the Manitoba Bisons and then playing semi-professional basketball in the Philippines, Lenin turned his passion for playing the game towards instilling a love of basketball in his athletes. He began his coaching career in 2001 coaching the JV Boys Basketball team at Elmwood High School and since then has worked tirelessly towards achieving that goal.

Lenin has coached junior high and high school basketball, as well as at the club level, where he coached his teams to win seven City Championships, six Provincial Championships at Sargent Park School, four Manitoba Club Provincial Championships and represented Manitoba for the Canadian Jr. NBA Club Championships with the Winnipeg Hot Shots Basketball Club. Lenin has also served as Co-Coach for the Manitoba Provincial Team and is currently a head coach for the Attack Basketball Program.

Lenin is a Vice Principal at General Wolfe School where he continues to be active in coaching for the Grade 9 Boys basketball program.
